We’re still in, too!June 22, 2017
We believe that technology can empower everyone to achieve a more sustainable future for our planet. And we’re as committed as ever to work with partners and clients globally to develop and use innovative approaches to reduce their carbon footprint. A big part of what we do is help our clients move to the Microsoft cloud. Per a recent study, this can lower your emissions from 30% to a whopping 90%. So no matter how you look at it, the cloud is good for business (and for the planet).
We’re also doing our part by practicing what we preach. As a virtual, global company, we minimize the impact of our business operations on the environment.
Last year, we also moved ourselves off physical servers and onto Office 365. Now, we’re on shared servers that are more energy-efficient and that are well on their way to being powered by renewable energy – ultimately driving our transformation toward smarter use of resources.
In the words of our long-time partner Brad Smith, President and Chief Legal Officer, Microsoft, “We remain steadfastly committed to the sustainability, carbon and energy goals that we have set as a company and to the Paris Agreement’s ultimate success. Our experience shows us that these investments and innovations are good for our planet, our company, our customers and the economy.” (Source: wearestillin.com)
Well said. We couldn’t agree more.
