Meet our team: Kim ArmstrongJanuary 2, 2019
Mentor/manager, golfer, dog lover, and movie buff. Meet Kim, who’s been with Binary Tree for 18 years and who makes sure our products and support are as great as they can be.
What do you do?
I am the Director of Product Management and Support (MCS), and throughout my 18 years at Binary Tree, my ability to enthusiastically embrace change, and have a deep understanding of people has led to my continual focus on understanding the needs of our clients, and to the fundamental belief that empowering and challenging employees inspires them to go above and beyond to meet those needs. I participate at an operational level working closely with all departments in Binary Tree to help ensure a positive customer experience with our products.
How did your career journey lead you to Binary Tree?
My career started at Binary Tree as an intern straight out of college, and I never looked back. I’ve been dedicated and loyal to Binary Tree for 18 years, and the company has grown a lot since I first came on board. I’ve had the privilege of watching our company and products evolve into what they are today.
My role has evolved quite a bit at Binary Tree from starting in development, working in support and QA, writing product documentation and then becoming a manager of those departments at various times. With my experience and hard work, I was able to continually challenge myself as well as grow my career at Binary Tree. My most recent challenge has been within MCS product management and learning to have a different perspective with working on the business by looking outside and learning the market and not working in it every day. My current role involves leading two teams who are passionate about producing great products and creating a first-class customer service experience.
What technology advancement in your career has surprised you the most?
Our ability to adapt our migration products to the constantly changing market we do business in.
What’s your proudest career moment?
My proudest moment was when Steven Pivnik (our founder and executive chairman) recognized my years of service to Binary Tree at our Connect event in Miami.
What drives you?
I work to inspire my teams through leading by example.
Who’s your daily go-to?
My teams because we are always supporting each other in all situations throughout each day.
