Introduction
E2E Complete enables you to perform intra-organizational and inter-organizational (cross-forest) Exchange migrations with no changes to the Active Directory environment. Our solution provides a centralized management console for the entire process so you don’t need to install additional agents on your Exchange servers. End-users benefit, too: they receive informative SMS or email alerts automatically and can access a self-service web portal to reschedule their individual migrations to better fit their schedules.
With advanced technologies, such as Microsoft Silverlight for the Administrative Dashboard and SQL Server for the data repository, E2E Complete ensures the highest levels of tracking and reporting, and introduces efficiency and predictability to managing your migration. And with E2E Complete’s simplified user interface, administrators, not Exchange architects, can run the project.
Streamlined Migration
E2E Complete provides an industry-leading workflow engine to manage all Exchange migration scenarios. Through advanced analytics that provide near real-time updates and project completion forecasts, E2E Complete offers unrivaled tracking and reporting capabilities. Our unique “Do Not Migrate Before” scheduling option and configurable blackout windows help to ensure that users and their mailboxes are transferred from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 without impacting their productivity. For environments migrating from Exchange 2007, we offer the same advanced scheduling technology, allowing you to configure migration jobs to run on nights and weekends. This technology ensures that your production network isn’t overloaded during business hours and removes the risk of interrupted email performance and inaccessible line-of-business applications.
Maximize Migration Throughput
Binary Tree’s E2E Complete utilizes the latest Exchange PowerShell engine to maximize migration throughput up to 10 times faster than agent-based migration tools. This also makes E2E Complete faster as well as easier to install and configure since it runs on a single web server. Some legacy 3rd party tools require customers to install their proprietary agents on all source and target Exchange servers in the environment. With our AD site-aware technology and cross-forest linking capabilities, administrators can easily move mailboxes between domains without installing agents on the servers or setting up AD trusts. E2E Complete will shuttle data during every available moment, outside of the blackout windows that you define, which ends the guessing game of how many mailboxes can be migrated during a given window. In addition, end-users running Outlook with Cached Mode (or off-line mode) do not have to rebuild their local OST files the first time they access their new mail server. Some legacy 3rd party tools require users to rebuild their local OST files which puts an extensive load on the network and Exchange servers the morning after the migration events as all users are trying to recreate their local mail files at the same time. These key architectural differences and advanced capabilities of E2E Complete effectively decrease the project duration and reduce the cost of any migration when using E2E Complete instead of legacy 3rd party tools.
Accurately Predict the Project Timeline
The forecasting and reporting capabilities built into E2E Complete help you to provide highly accurate information to key stakeholders about the status of the migration project. E2E Complete brings intelligent, metric-driven forecasting and predictability to an otherwise guesswork process, and it embraces the new asynchronous nature of Exchange 2010 mailbox migrations. The software provides an accurate prediction of the migration project timeline after moving just a small number of pilot users. This insight helps the migration project team plan work more confidently because they have knowledge of, and control over, the project schedules so they can more accurately predict and communicate the migration schedule to the entire organization.

Centralized and Simplified Management
The need to migrate data for hundreds or thousands of users in locations all over the country or the world creates management and coordination headaches for the IT administrators and Exchange architects who lead the effort. E2E Complete enables the project team to streamline their management of the migration queue. Instead of spending hours updating various spreadsheets and manually monitoring PowerShell scripts, they can refer to a centralized scheduling and management console via a web interface to more efficiently manage the migration project. Non-technical administrative resources can use this simplified web interface to manage the entire migration process—scheduling, tracking, communicating and troubleshooting—which removes the need for Exchange architects to write scripts and schedule jobs to process the migration workload.
More Effective Project Management
Unlike manually scripted processes, E2E Complete gives administrators full control of the migration queue. Start, stop, pause, or reshuffle—prioritize users as needed. Our site-aware view allows administrators to monitor a project in an easily digestible format. As the project progresses, E2E Complete leverages the performance metrics of completed migrations and applies forecasts to mailboxes in the migration queue. E2E Complete delivers an unmatched level of transparency that shows everything from the estimated migration time of specific mailboxes to a projected completion date for all the mailboxes in the queue.

Refined End-User Experience
Chaos and unproductive downtime can develop if end-users lack insight and input into when their mailboxes are scheduled for migration. E2E Complete notifies users of their migration date in advance and users have the opportunity to request a new date if the scheduled date falls at an inconvenient time. After the user’s data migration finishes, E2E Complete sends an SMS to their phone, or an external email address, to notify them that they again have access to email.
Migrate and Maintain Productivity
E2E Complete minimizes the migration’s impact on end-users and helps maximize their productivity during the process. Administrators can schedule migrations for “off hours” with a range of notification options—delivered to external emails and cell phones—to help keep users informed throughout the migration process. To prevent a migration from being scheduled at an inconvenient time, users can simply log onto a web portal and indicate on which days the migration should not take place. Administrators can also automatically defer migrations of users who have enabled their out-of-office flag. This capability helps ensure that a migration won’t adversely impact an executive sitting in an important meeting on the other side of the world.
